Movement Begins

The situation is such that conflicts over the past 70+ years have left an undeniable mark on those of us who would put themselves in harm’s way.  OIF and OEF alone have cycled through at least 2 million men and women in the last 12 years. Desert Storm, Vietnam, Korean War; almost all coincided during the Cold War, the aftermath of which are still affecting the Veterans’ community. According to the V.A., applications for benefits did not peek for WWII veterans until 1969. Using those same projections, the estimate for veterans of current conflicts won’t peak until 2050. Being homeless, unemployed or living in shelters is not an acceptable alternative to those who valiantly fought for their country. If the systems in place are inadequate for today’s needs based on observation and statistics, odds are they will not be able to adequately support the growing Veterans’ population that will continue to join the ranks of the civilian community. Many Veterans’ outreach initiatives have been launched but find maintaining difficult due to a reliance on public funding. Operation Veteran’s Promise is created to bring much needed support to the already established and over-taxed systems in place.

Our mission is clear.  After realizing the situation and recognizing the deficiencies of current systems, the need for a strong and well established community based organization is a necessity. Our first objective is being met by building and developing a strong network of Veterans and respective organizations to maximize our collective efforts. The second phase integrates our renewable energy program into a fully developed system capable of making the appropriate resources available to launch and support Veterans’ outreach initiatives. The director’s intent is to deploy a self-sufficient, self-perpetuating platform capable of providing grant funds to other Veteran’s related outreach programs.

The execution of our objectives and the deployment of our renewable energy program are to be carried out in 4 movements. Phase 1: Operation Veteran’s Promise will deploy to the selected area of operations as primary points of contact, coordinating efforts on the ground. Phase 2: The building of residential and necessary support systems crucial to maintaining our operational support. Phase 3:  The installation and launch of the renewable energy platform will begin. It is important to note Phases 2 and 3 will start in very short succession of one another to ensure self-sufficiency and sustainment to maximize our efforts. Phase 4: Once generating energy; oversight, equipment maintenance, and ongoing logistics management will be our primary focus to ensure the success of continued operations.

Service and support during the initial deployment requires that equipment and materials are transported along with the OVP team to ensure sustained operational command and control. Sustenance will be obtained locally along with provisions made before deployment, supply runs will be made on order. Raw materials for the renewable energy platform have been secured on a reoccurring basis in accordance with operational requirements and capacities. To guarantee self-sustainability, water purifications and agricultural systems will be established as soon as possible after the launch of our platform.

Direct management and communications shall be maintained through cellular phones and local internet connections but when necessary we will make giant smoke signals or draw out an S.O.S in the sand (c’mon, laugh a little). We do not foresee our social media networks and computers crashing all at once. We will be available and accessible through them albeit for the initial phases, response times are expected to be longer. The founding members of OVP will be the first boots on ground for our selected area of operations. Primary point of contact is Greg Dobrowolski, Program Director. All communications, planning, and coordination will be done through the OVP Command and Control team.
