JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

 

Has primary responsibility for supervision of the warehousing, material control, in-storage maintenance, shelf life, and

QC Receipt Inspection processes at Entergy’s nuclear plants. Serve as key point of contact between the Supply Chain organization and interfacing plant departments including Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Operations, Chemistry, and Project Management.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Responsible for safety, leadership, training and supervision of site Materials personnel. Manage warehouse functions to ensure that parts are stored and maintained to meet technical and quality requirements and are available to meet work week and outage schedules. Prepare reports, charts and briefings dealing with material acquisition, inventories, material availability, contract status, etc.

 

2. Document adverse conditions and performance deficiencies in the Condition Report Program, perform CR

dispositions, develop and implement corrective action plans, and verify effectiveness of actions taken. Serve as Self-Assessment and/or Benchmark Team Lead or Team Member. Work with Procurement and Procurement Engineering to align supply chain priorities and resolve technical issues. Provide emergency, back-shift and outage support as required. Support the Emergency Response Organization and activities.

 

3. Perform day to day supervision of warehouse functions (material control, housekeeping, in-storage maintenance, shelf –life warehouse Foreign Material Control, staging, issuing and shipping). Coordinate transfer of materials between Commercial Grade Dedication Labs and Warehouses as needed. Support MP&C leadership in the oversight and implementation of the Vendor Managed Inventory Program (VMI).

 

4. Support leadership in the administration of the MP&C processes. Manage multiple and sometimes conflicting

priorities. Manage multi-disciplined groups and function as a team leader for assigned MP&C Process/Commodity Team. Serve as primary liaison between MP&C and interfacing plant departments including Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Operations, Chemistry, and Project Management. Act on behalf of MP&C leadership as required.

 

5. Assist in budget development and manage departmental functions within budget. Responsible for safety, leadership, training and supervision of site Materials personnel. Establish departmental objectives and standards of performance in accordance with defined MP&C objectives and nuclear site expectations.

 

6. Actively seek and solicit ideas from staff for Entergy Continuous Improvement (ECI). Use ECI techniques to analyze causes, plan and implement improvements, and study effects of changes. Ensure that personnel implement assigned processes in accordance with standardized MP&C procedures.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 3 years’ experience in Supply Chain or related field, with at least 2 of the 3 years’ experience being Nuclear power plant related. Full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Managemen fundamentals. Strong knowledge of interfacing departments’ processes and priorities. Uses focused listening to understandothers’ perspectives. Learns new information and skills quickly. Strong Performance Improvement focus. Demonstrated ability to apply applicable codes and regulations, including UCC, Contract Law and FERC. Demonstrates initiative and proven ability to effectively manage costs of the business. Proven leadership skills. Others want to be on the team when this person is the leader or a member. Technical proficiency in this assigned function and specialty. Established communication skills, both oral and written.

 

Desired REQUIREMENTS

 

Professional certification in Purchasing, Materials Management, Inventory Management & Control, Contract

Management, or Project Management.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Candidate must be capable of working overtime or late hours, and working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be available for call out, and for filling emergency response duties. Travel may be required (~10%). As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
